Flume conveyors are very gentle on the crop, as the produce is dropped into water rather than onto a surface. The system helps to eliminate drops and also enhances cleaning. Flume conveyors can be used to carry crops over long distances and are extremely low maintenance. Flume is made from stainless steel AISI304.

Produce may be de-watered before the next process or, in some cases, fed directly into the next machine with flume water. Water can be managed in a closed loop using a filter and recycling system or as part of a comprehensive water management system.
